While the hazards of chocolate are dependent on the size of your dog, the type of chocolate they eat and the amount eaten, we encourage you to make sure they never eat it.
What makes chocolate bad for dogs?
Something called theobromine is the factor in chocolate that makes it toxic to dogs. While people have no problem metabolizing theobromine, dogs cannot as easily and the build up can result in toxic poisoning.
If your dog should ingest chocolate and you notice vomiting or diarrhea you should bring your dog to the vet immediately so they can induce further vomiting.
