UPDATE 1/3/18 – Our contact at Subaru got back to us about an update on how this first time event went! Over the 2 weekends the event took place, Best Friends LA hosted thousands of guests in their exhibit with many people just learning that they have 2 locations in LA for when they are ready to adopt.
What we really loved to hear was that for many people that visited the exhibit it was their first time loving on a pit bull type dog! This made us incredibly happy to hear that more people could see first hand how awesome they are!
3 adoptions to date took place from the event! Below are a few images from the show so you can see the magic that happened.
We swear there is some magic happening in this first image!
About The Event
Subaru is one of the manufacturers at CharityPaws that we really not only respect but encourage our readers to support because of all the amazing work they do for animals.
If you have not met the Barkleys or seen a Subaru Dog Commercial you are totally missing out and should take a peak at them. These commercials are just one small thing that makes Subaru amazing.
But they just kicked up their amazing-ness up a notch – well actually kicked it up a lot of notches.
Subaru has always been very active with different animal welfare initiatives – but now they are partnering up with Best Friends Animal Society for a one of a kind event that is taking place during the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show this December.
Yes, the AUTO SHOW! This means lots of homeless dogs will have a LOT of opportunity to be seen and adopted. It is all part of the Subaru Loves Pets program which was created to help improve the safety and well being of animals nationwide.
For this event they partnered with No Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) which is an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society to help end the killing of homeless pets in the Los Angeles shelter system.
The event will be held in the West Hall, Booth 102 inside the Los Angeles Convention Center and attendees can meet adoptable pups and have the ability to take them home.
Not only will attendees be able to consider a new addition for their family, but they will also have the opportunity to make rope toys as donations for shelters and create custom pet tags on the Subaru Loves Pets engraver.
The LA Auto Show runs December 1st and 2nd as well as December 8th and 9th and we hope for those of you located in Los Angeles you will make the trip!
We cannot wait to see what the results of the event are and hope we can get some follow up news related to this event so stay tuned!
Be Inspired!
If you are a rescue or shelter – think about how this idea can be implemented for your own organization.
There are trade shows and exhibits of all types throughout the year – can you find a corporate sponsor to offer you some space at a show?
The exposure for them – and you could be amazing so it is definitely reaching out to your community to find that one company that embraces pets and wants to help you make an impact!
Dang it! I usually go to the LA Auto Show, but having sick 3 month old twins this week meant no auto show for me this year 🙁 However, there is a big pet adoption about 10 minutes from my house that I’m going to try and sneak off to tomorrow. 🙂
I had no idea you had newborns! Congratulations Colby! Hope they are feeling better soon and that you get to go love on some puppies today!
