I am not sure I have smiled this hard in a while! These wool animal art pieces are so lifelike and have such a warmth about them it is hard not to fall in love and want to bring one home.
Then there is the level of art and talent needed to create one that is just so incredibly admirable!
Tatiana Barakova is from Russia and has been working with wool to create these animals since 2006 and is focused on creating animal likenesses — and I love her even more because as she states “I don’t enjoy making people very much”, which is why you will only find animals in her collection!
She was in a major exhibition in 2014 called the Teddybaer-Total and she won in the felting division for her piece called “Golden George”. Ummm, we can clearly see why this was a winner – I mean this is AMAZING! Each of her pieces is like a mini-version of their real life counterpart and uses a needle felting technique to create the life like replicas.
This little guy looks so realistic!
It doesn’t look like she does custom work, but she does make her pieces available on Bear Pile – although it looks like they get “adopted” quickly! You can also follow her on Instagram to see her latest work.
Below are some of our absolute favorite pieces!
