Using environmentally friendly products that are not tested on animals are a huge priority for me. Dropps laundry and dishwasher pods fit both of my criteria!

Dropps has been around for a while, but I only recently learned about them and I am so glad I did. While I do use another brand of pods for my dishwasher, I had never considered using pods at all for my clothes – but Dropps was something I knew I needed to try.

Dropps Laundry Detergent Pods

Dropps laundry pods are small and clear and you just throw them in with your wash. I used 1 pod per load and have to give a big shout out to the cleanliness of my clothes! If you are doing heavier or larger loads – you may have to use 2 pods.

My clothes – even the ones with puppy paw prints came out amazingly clean!

Similar to the laundry pods – the cruelty free dishwasher pods kicked but at cleaning my greasy gross dishes.

Not sure how they do it, but these pods just work. My plates filled with the stickiest muck came out super clean – my normal pods have trouble even doing this many times.

Dropps Cost

I am going to be honest, when I first learned about Dropps I thought it was going to be a bit too expensive which would have been an issue since money is tight these days.

But, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that that with the 240 load pod box I would be spending about 20 cents per load! Yes, a bit more expensive than the liquid detergent I am currently using, but less expensive than some leading brands pods. The trade off for not having a big plastic bottle is worth the few pennies more I will need to pay.

Dropps Pod Materials

The Dropps pod is a clear pod made from water soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) which means it will easily dissolve in water. I tested it in both hot and cold water and the pod entirely dissolved in both case!

The reason I never used actual laundry pods before Dropps was because I had always heard that the pods never really disintegrated. I did a lot of research into laundry pods before my daughter went off to college in the hopes that I could send her with them to make her laundry easier and the lack of the pods dissolving were a big issue on college campuses so I avoided them.

Now – I have something I can send to her that will work as they should!
