Every once in a while there is a product or service we fall in love with because they love animals. Subaru hits that love button yet again with their new “Barkley Dogs” commercials that represent how awesome and dog friendly their cars – and company are.
The Barkley’s have been gracing us with commercials since 2009 – because the brand realized that a large portion of their market had pets, they wanted to celebrate that with their commercials.
By the way – Subaru is also sponsoring this year’s Puppy Bowl XIV – which of course most of us die hard dog lovers prefer to watch than the Super Bowl itself.
They did not release in any commercials in 2017, but for 2018 – they have 4 new wonderfully adorable dog commercials that will definitely make you smile! Check them out below!
Car Wash
Ever have your car washed by dogs? Me neither – but this video takes a fun look at what happens when they do!
Driving Lesson
Yeah – none of us like parallel parking, but see how Mr. Barkley handles the situation when he has to teach Teen Barkley how to master this tough driving move.
Drop Off
The first day of school – yuck. Yuck for mom and dad. Yuck for the kids. Another great video showing how the difficulties in leaving your offspring at school for the first time is one that is not easy for any species!
Drive Away
Just like real life, this adorable video is so relatable to those that have kids. Dad comes pick you up after a day with friends, you get all mouthy with dad and he shows you! The glance back to his kid in the backseat is priceless.
Subaru also has something called the “Love Promise” which is their motivation to help make the world a better place – and with that campaign they support a variety of different causes. On the animal welfare side they donate nationally to the ASPCA, ASPCA Rescue Ride and the Center for Pet Safety.
We also love how they support local communities while at their auto shows like they recently did at the Philadelphia and Los Angeles auto show. The events they held were a great way to increase visibility for adoption and currently available pets – and that makes us love Subaru that much more.
And – if you still want more Barkley videos then jump on over to the Subaru Video Vault where you can find their older videos for your doggy enjoyment.
I think the main reason why golden retrievers are chosen as dogs in commercials is because they have such a popular perception among people of being great and family dogs. Associating them with a brand gives it that feeling. Here are other commercials where golden retrievers starred in: https://goldenretrieverlove.com/famous-commercials-featuring-golden-retrievers/
BARKKEY ads are great. My favorite is the dinner date with tuxedo cat valet. It’s the perfect chuckle.
Agree 100%! I hate admitting though I am not sure I have seen the one with the cat so clearly I need to go find it!
Dumbest commercials ever produced, and I own a Subaru.
Everyone has their opinion! Personally we disagree!
You obviously are not a dog owner. Sad that you seem so angry……
I love the ads with Subaru’s spokes dogs, the Barkleys. I used to have a Golden Retriever, so whenever I see one of those ads, it makes me think of my dog. One of my favorite ads is the one with the Papa dog driving around his puppy in the car seat to get him to go to sleep.
I agree these are some of the best ads ever! I am totally in love with the new one I just saw with the puppy learning to drive and a bird flies by! Literally laughed out loud! Subaru has done a fantastic job with this whole campaign.
