“Why I Love My Rescue Pet” Art Contest For Kids

Congratulations To All Of Our Artists!

Every one of these art pieces is amazing! We love seeing all of these little animal lovers that will kick start the next generation of animal rescuers.

A special congratulations to our 1st place winner Malana! Great job on your piece! You will receive $100 and $400 will be donated to YOUR favorite rescue!

Siri – Age 8

This is my rescue dog, Frank, and he is looking at a squirrel in the evening, saying, “What do I do, Human, what do I do?” The squirrel has an acorn. I also wrote a Haiku about him on the bottom right of my picture. I drew the picture first, and then I glued on the Haiku and what Frank is thinking about.

Malana – Age 11

Lola was rescued from the flooding areas of louisiana, and is always acting loveable and regal! Skipper was from Kansas City rescue, and he is our little old man, his true love would be sun bathing and butt scratches! Molly was rescued from the hot sidewalks of Mexico when she was three days old, with her litter mates. She is our little food motivated pup, who loves nothing more than good food and belly rubs!

Quinn – Age 7

Quinn and her family always have a crew of rescue dogs, so she has lots of experience with pet fostering and adoption!

Maia – Age 7

We recently adopted a cat who has become Maia’s best friend. This is a picture showing how happy her kitty is too.

Makayla – Age 6

I got Honey for Christmas and this drawing is a picture of the day I got her. I love her so much and she is very sweet. She is a rescue dog from Texas and I’m happy she is my dog!

Raelynn – Age 6

I think dogs and cats should be rescued so they can be happy and safe and make people happy.

Layla – Age 9

Licks can make a sad day happy. Chip my rescue dog always makes me smile.

Shelby – Age 11

I love my pet kitten because, she is 1) so adorable and 2) because I love all animals with disabilities, hers is blurry vision so she is so affectionate and kind as well. Well, the main reason why you should adopt is, if the animal is in a kill shelter or a bad home then the animal could die depressed and alone :(. But, if you adopt an animal then you can have a BFF for life :).

Aaliyah – Age 11

“Woof, woof”, my dog barks as she leaps through the grass to retrieve her ball. She comes bouncing back happy to see me. She drops her ball and it reminds me of when we first adopted her from the resuce group as a puppy. I love all animals but I especially care about dogs and how they all deserve a home. Adopting a dog from a rescue or shelter not only gives you a furry friend, but it also helps the overpopulation of dogs go down. Many dog rescues and animal shelters have loving and friendly dogs like mine. You might think of those as places where all the rejected and unwanted dogs go, but its not. It’s a place that dogs go when they need a second chance. You can save a dogs life by adopting instead of buying from a breeder.

Lola – Age 6

Lola loves her rescue cat, Starla so much because she is the nicest friend ever. Lola wants everyone to rescue a pet because they will gain a good friend too.
