Hold your leashes dog lovers……if you are in NYC, you will be doing zoomies of joy at the launch of Boris and Horton, a dog cafe!

This place will be a dog lover’s dream! Imagine being able to go to a place that loves and welcomes dogs and where you can kick back and relax with your best friend – both 2 legged and 4 legged!

Approved by the Department of Health (which we are seriously impressed by!) – this cafe is filled with furry friends, coffee, beer, snacks and a small collection of adorable retail items.

They are located at 195 Avenue A in the East Village in NYC and are open daily from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM

Who Started Boris and Horton?

The dog cafe in NYC is the brainchild of Coppy Holzman – who is the founder of CharityBuzz and works in a variety of philanthropic entities and is clearly the ultimate dog lover. Alongside him is his daughter Logan Mikhly who in her own right is an animal advocate who has had much success improving adoption rates at Used Dogs where she was Operations Manager.

Some of their mouth-watering fare will include cheese-plates and pastries from other fine local eateries. They will also offer vegan and gluten-free options for their food choices. In the evenings you will be able to sip on wine and craft beers!

Seriously – is there a better date night than a cheese platter, a fine wine and your dog by your side? We think not!

Below are the namesakes for cafe – meet Boris and and Horton – the loving sidekicks of Coppy and Logan!

While they do “emulate” a cat cafe – the biggest difference is that no dogs will reside in the facility and it is not an “adoption” type facility, but a place for dog lover’s to come together!

This is a great place for dog lover’s to come and hang if they cannot have their own dog! A place you can go and get some lovin’ from other peoples dogs!

The facility will feature 2 unique sides to comply with the Department of Health, so there will be a side dedicated to the ordering of food and beverages – the other is the dog side where your pooch can enjoy ON LEASH fun mingling and engaging with their furry friends. They even have a super cute photo booth with costumes for you and your pet to really make the most of a fun date night with your pooch!

There are some rules and regulations that pet owners must abide by when coming to Boris and Horton — your dog must be kept on leash at all times and they must be dog-friendly!

One of the things we love the most is their partnership with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue!

On the weekends the dog cafe will be used to host adoption events which could not make us happier of course!

We wish the whole team at Boris & Horton much success and we cannot wait to make a trip out there to show our support!
