Creative Pet Adoption Marketing Ideas

Creative marketing ideas to get pets adopted is an important part of what an animal shelter or rescue does. Not all organizations have budgets to hire major advertising agencies to make the kind of impact they would like – so we will be focusing on profiling some of our favorite campaigns that make us laugh and feel!

These campaigns are unique in how they promote pet adoption but they all have an impact statement that we think works.

*Please do not use these as your own – we have noted the creator when we could and if you would like to use any of these for your own campaign, please contact the creator for permission.

Animal Rescue Corps

This creative ad for Animal Rescue Corps was created by Lucie Rice and offers a vintage inspired design with ADOPT as the core focus of the design. It talks about ending the cycle of abuse as an underlying message which gives it an added bonus to educating.

Austin Humane Society

This next campaign we fell in love with for its playful spirit! The campaign was created by Door No 3 in Austin for the Austin Humane Society and features a few different versions but all with the same fun look and feel. This Pet Adoption campaign showcases all the things that make a dog or cat special in fun typography styles with a fun yet simple design.

The Shelter Pet Project

The Shelter Pet Project may be one of our all time favorite campaigns – some of them make us laugh out loud they are so cute! Each ad features an animal that has been adopted with a cute saying as if they are speaking about their owners. Like Harper below who is talking about her new owner’s leash addiction. Giving pets this personal factor really helps people connect with the message.

AmiciCani

A completely different style and concept for a pet adoption campaign that really makes you stop and think how awesome dogs really are. A darker inspired campaign – we like the uniqueness of the concept! The adoption campaign focused on how dogs do not care who you are, what you have or what you do – they just want to love and be loved. So whether you are a robber, executioner or trying to bury a body — your best friend will be there by your side!  Click here to view all three of the ads created by BBDO for AmiciCani.
