Imagine a world where being yourself is always good enough. That is exactly what Tucker, the pit bull mix dog learns about in the fairytale story Tucker Finds His Forever Home.
We know the pit bull breeds are often the harder dogs to adopt out from shelters – and that is the case with young Tucker who finds himself homeless after a landlord tells his family he has to go just because of “how he looks”.
Tucker knows he is a good boy, but does he need to change his looks to make others happy?
Hell no!
This adorable book takes you on a journey of the life of a pit bull – from home – to homeless – to home again, but this time with people who accept him just the way he is and are dedicated to giving him the best life possible.
This book will give you all the feels and is a great training aid for children to learn to be good dog people and also why being themselves is the best thing they can be!
Beautiful illustrations by Erica Schindler really hit home and bring more emotion to the storyline.
Tucker Finds His Forever Home was created by a friend of CharityPaws, Beth Miller, the founder of Wagtown.org.
Lessons from the book:
- Do not judge anyone by the way they look
- It is okay to be “you” – you are unique, the way you should be
- We all deserve to be loved, no matter how we look
Of course, as a pittie lover – there is also the focus on how pit bull breed dogs make amazing pets!
About Wagtown.org
Wagtown.org is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is focused on creating dog-friendly communities by working with local leaders to keep public spaces safe, healthy and humane for our canine friends.
They offer a variety of advisory services like project management, public advocacy and urban planning to name a few. Each of these services is done with the ultimate goal of creating a more dog friendly environment whether a public space, commercial building or land.
They also provide consulting to help communities create more dog and pet friendly environments.
Since launching Wagtown in 2016, Beth has interviewed over 500 community leaders in 18 states to help initiate what she hopes will be a national movement to create a more dog-friendly world in communities everywhere.
Beth’s background is in marketing, graphics, advocacy and brand development – and she left a C-suite position to start this program – so she is destined to make her dreams happen – and we are excited to be able to help her get the word out!
